Louisville Catholics And The Kwanzaa Fraud

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s 36th annual Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration will be celebrated on Dec. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Catholic Enrichment Center, 3146 West Broadway. This transparent attempt to drag African-Americans into the folds of the Catholic Church will meet with the same laughable level of success as it has for the last three decades. That the palpable irony of this blasphemy escapes the gullible hearts of Louisville Catholics is problematic.

Kwanzaa was designed, of course, to induce African-Americans away from Christianity in general, and from the celebration of Christmas, in particular. Christmas, similarly, was invented by the Church, in the early-to-mid 4th century, to coincide with the date of the Roman winter solstice and ancient pagan winter festival, in order to stamp out those celebrations and replace them with a Christian one. Irony abounds.

Kwanzaa is a total fraud, invented from the whole (kente) cloth by Ron Karenga; an insane Marxist-racist-convicted felon from Oakland, California. Karenga invented the “holiday” in 1966, as an alternative to Christmas, and as a vehicle to promote racial separatism. Karenga himself is quoted to say, “People think it’s African, but it’s not. I came up with Kwanzaa because black people wouldn’t celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that’s when a lot of bloods would be partying.” he has also explained that his creation of Kwanzaa was motivated in part by hostility toward both Christianity and Judaism.

By all accounts, Karenga (born Ronald McKinley Everett on July 14, 1941, also known as Maulana Ron Karenga, Ron Karenga and M. Ron Karenga) is a nasty piece of work. The Black radical was a founder of a murderous gang known as the United Slaves; a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers. While secretly informing on the Panthers to the FBI, Karenga came up with the idea of Kwanzaa, based upon the seven principles of the Marxist/racist Symbionese Liberation Army. Many will remember the famous 1974 photo of Hearst Publishing heiress, kidnap victim Patricia Hearst, posed next to the banner of her captors: a seven-headed cobra. Each snake head stood for one of the SLA's revolutionary principles: Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity) and Imani (faith)—the same seven "principles" of Kwanzaa.

1971 Karenga was convicted of felony assault and false imprisonment for assaulting and torturing two women from the United Slaves, Deborah Jones & Gail Davis. A May 14, 1971 article in the Los Angeles Times described the testimony of one of the women: "Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Ms. Davis's mouth and placed against Ms. Davis's face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said." They also were hit on the heads with toasters. Toasters!

At Karenga's trial, a psychiatrist's report stated the following: "This man now represents a picture that can be considered both paranoid and schizophrenic with hallucinations and illusions, inappropriate affect, disorganization, and impaired contact with the environment." Karenga was sentenced to one to ten years in prison. Currently, he goes by the name of “Dr. Maulana Karenga,” and teaches ethnic studies and Marxism at Cal State in Southern California. Naturally.

One of the best expositions of the whole Kwanzaa story was written by the late Tony Snow, who concluded: “There is no part of Kwanzaa that is not fraudulent.” According to the official Kwanzaa Web site the celebration was designed to foster "conditions that would enhance the revolutionary social change for the masses of Black Americans" and provide a "reassessment, reclaiming, recommitment, remembrance, retrieval, resumption, resurrection and rejuvenation of those principles (Way of Life) utilized by Black Americans' ancestors." Snow observes:

The 7 principles of Kwanzaa—unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith—are the very same 7 principles of the terrorist Symbionese Liberation Army.

The celebration comes from the Swahili term "matunda yakwanza," or "first fruit." Unfortunately, Swahili has little relevance for American blacks. Most slaves were ripped from the shores of West Africa. Swahili is an East African tongue.

Kwanzaa ceremonies have no discernible African roots.

No culture on earth celebrates a harvesting ritual in December.

The implicit pledges about human dignity don't necessarily jibe with such still-common practices as female circumcision and polygamy.

Perhaps Ann Coulter summed it up best, when she observed that, “Kwanzaa is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism. It is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.” Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation and public schools across the nation. The only principle Kwanzaa promotes is liberals' unbounded capacity to respect any faith but Christianity.
