Free Legal Advice

Metro Louisville’s Financial Empowerment Center has a program to provide free legal counseling for citizens in our community.  You may want to take advantage of this great opportunity to get free, confidential legal advice from a licensed attorney.

On the second and fourth Thursday of every month a Legal Aid representative will be available from 9 am until 12 pm for 30-minute appointments in the Empowerment Center office, Room 334 of 810 Barret Avenue (Urban Government Center). These sessions are free and open to the public, but appointments are required - walk-ins are not accepted.

        ● Any kind of legal guidance or advice, including:

        ● Child custody

        ● Disability or social security issues

        ● Expungement

        ● Bankruptcy or foreclosure guidance

Health Care Counseling - Every Friday, 9 am - 1 pm at 810 Barret Avenue, 3rd floor

    ● Any issues or questions about the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), including:

    ● How to sign up or register for health insurance through ACA and KYnect

    ● Help choosing a plan

    ● Assistance navigating the KYnect website
